70: Fools Gold Loaves and Naked Sex

This week 39 years ago, the world lost an Elvis. The Elvis we lost that day was a unique figure, different in many ways than the other Elvii who inhabited his body over the years of his cultural relevance, but similar in many other ways. Haunted by the same demons and gifted with the same virtues that made him a singular force in music from the beginning.

We don't really get into all that, but we do talk a lot about his proto-hipster culinary inspirations, his strange and telling sexuality, his generosity and transparency with friends and strangers alike. Thanks to Aaron Alvarez, artist and creative force behind The Obscure Gentlemen web comic and podcast, for acting as bard and Elvis scholar this episode.
